Smith Micro Moho Pro, formerly known as Anime Studio, is a 2D vector animation program. The original version was distributed by LostMarble, then by E Frontier, until it was purchased by Smith Micro Software in November 2007. There are two versions of the program: Anime Studio Debut and Anime Studio Professional. The former has fewer features than the Pro version, such as the generated image size and scene length.
The original program was developed by Lost Marble in 1999 under the name Moho. The latest version of Moho was 5.4, which was similar to the first version of Anime Studio Professional. The current version of the program is 10.0. Lost Marble is still developing another program called Papagayo, a free lip-sync program that works with Anime Studio.
Despite its name, Anime Studio isn't specifically designed for anime-style animation. It can serve as a time-saving interface for Flash animation and can easily create animations in a clip-based manner. The program has some basic 3D features. It can be categorized as a program for 2D short films, especially those that tell a story in a single scene and are quick and easy to create. However, for larger projects, additional software, such as audio and video editors, is required.
